The landlord manages the property directly and is argumentative and attempts to bully at every opportunity.
There was no formal check in process - he didn't attend the property at all. When told that the front door lock had failed at 1am, necesitating an emergency locksmith his reply was to say there had never been a problem in the past, and he would consider charging me for having had the lock changed - at my own expense!
At checkout he attempted to retain 50% of my deposit for spurious reasons including, but not limited to, removal of a football goal from the garden. He claims it was mine, and he would charge me for disposal of it - despite it featuring very prominently in the marketing photos from before my tenancy!
The Deposit Dispute scheme saw through his lies and spurious claim, and awarded me my entire deposit returned.
Avoid at all costs!
